BBC Introducing 2015 Sucess and Going Stateside

BBC Introducing is special. This year more than ever, Introducing has came into its own, and maybe its the 'real way forward.' What started in Britain may be able to expand the music industry, far beyond our weather-beaten shores.

I think its more than just a place where bands and musicians can upload their music in the hope of getting radio play. Its a community where talent thrives, where bands grow from being small room, pub singers to stadium sell outs. Its an opportunity for musicians to become who they should be. Its given us artists like Florence + The Machine, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cage The Elephant, MGMT, Jake Bugg, The 1975 and Two Door Cinema Club.

This year has saw huge success for BBC Introducing artists including George Ezra releasing his debut album with incredible success, James Bay - who was part of the BBC Sound Of 2015 - was awarded the BRITS Critics Choice Award 2015, Kodaline - BBC Sound Of 2013 - released their second album, 'Coming Up For Air' in February which reached number one in the Irish Albums Chart, Florence + The Machine's released their third studio album 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' which went was the number one album in 11 charts across 9 countries.

Don Broco released their second album 'Automatic' which reached no.3 in the UK album chart whilst Ed Sheeran, who played the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury in 2011, sold out three headline shows at New York's Madison Square Garden. His single 'Thinking Out Loud' is the most streamed song on Spoitfy with over 500, million streams. It became the first single ever to spend a whole year in the UK Top 40 in June, then last month it went platinum for the third time - the seventh single to do so this century.

Catfish and the Bottlemen have taken on the USA on a huge American tour, while at home in the UK their one of the biggest upcoming bands after signing with Virgin Records earlier this year. Their debut album 'The Balcony' went gold in February and the band return to play a near sell out UK tour in winter.  Nothings stopping this band from playing stadiums.

Wolf Alice released their debut
album 'My Love Is Cool' which proved two huge things. Firstly, this band are incredible, and secondly, they represent a style of music which they have brought out of the shadows and back to life. Their young, edgy and loud,
what more could you ask for ?

SOAK released her debut album 'Before We Forgot How to Dream' this year, which sounds gorgeous and is incredible considering its a debut album.

Pretty Vicious support the Manic Street Preachers in Cardiff before supporting SWIM DEEP then Nothing But Thieves on a huge UK tour, before playing alongside Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr in Manchester.

It might not be so easy as it looks but it is a real chance to 'make it'. Its a chance to get get your music heard, to find new fans, to grab the worlds attention with your music.

Its more than just an upload page. Its life changing.
