Sunday Soundcloud ft. Ducking Punches, Clean Cut Kid and Lion Bark

Soundcloud is always full of surprises. Sometimes you find not alot that you like and sometimes you find a list of bands you just have to see live, even though you've literally only heard the first few seconds of their song. For me, its been the latter of the two. A pretty good week on Soundcloud.

Sunday Soundcloud ft. Bring Me The Horizon & Catfish and the Bottlemen

September is usually a good month for music, whether its past releases or new albums and this September is no difference. Last year saw the release of two albums I still love and earlier this month Bring Me The Horizon released their incredible fourth studio album 'Thats The Spirit'.

The album itself is different from the bands previous work but it is absolutely incredible. Yes it isn't typical Bring Me The Horizon but it is incredible sounding. Its a new sound, more electronic and less screaming but Sykes vocals are still impeccable. It isn't like Sempiternal, its different which seems to have divided their fans as some people have embraced the new sound, preferring it to the old style, whilst others adored the old style and don't like the newer sound.

Personally I like both. Sempiternal was a pretty special album at the time, however now it is also a turning point in the bands style. I don't hate the new or older songs, its all just part of the band growing up, whether it be for the better or for the worst.

Last year two debut albums were released which to this day I am still in love with.
The first was Lonely The Brave's debut album 'The Days War' which is a beautiful sounding album. Their a band who's different in a good way. Lead singer David Jakes shys away from the attention of the crowd, which in itself is something pretty special. If he is happier to be out of the spotlight whilst having incredible vocals for the bands music, why should he be thrown into a place where he doesn't want to be ? After seeing the band twice since the albums release, it still sounding utterly incredible. With soaring vocals and a pretty unique sound, Lonely The Brave still have so much more to come.

My second debut album I still adore is pretty obvious one if you've ever came across this blog before.

Catfish and the Bottlemens debut album 'The Balcony.'

If you follow Catfish and the Bottlemen on any social media, you've probably saw 'The Balcony's' first birthday posts, where as usual lead singer Van McCann is hugely thankful to the bands fans who have put them where they are in the world today, as one of 2015 biggest indie bands.

My favourites from Soundcloud this week are a band from Chicago called Twin Peaks. A few months ago I came acorss them but never really posted about them, and then they reappear once again on Soundcloud, and I just have to write about them because their just incredible.

They make good music. Theres no simpler way to say it. They make good music. Their definitely a band to watch out for because I think they will definitely be big.

Sunday Soundcloud ft. Ravellas

Ever since Foals album 'What Went Down' came out, my playlists have leaned towards more indie-alt music. Thankfully Soundcloud and Twitter are abundant in this type of music, which led me onto one band I cannot get enough of. The Ravellas.

'What Went Down'

Foals fourth incredible album, once again showing us their brilliance in their own unique way.

Mallory Knox Homecoming Tour

After two constant years of touring and releasing two incredible albums, Mallory Knox's Homecoming Tour is well deserved, and its going to be huge.

Young Mammoth

Young Mammoth. Probably one of the most promising bands I've heard this year. If their self-title EP is a glimpse of what’s to come, they could possibly become one of the biggest bands in the world.

Sunday Soundcloud feat. Eliza and the Bear and Young Mammoth

Soundcloud is heaven for me. Its genuinely the best platform online to discover new or unsigned musicians who are just incredible sounding. Most bands, regardless of how famous they are will have a soundcloud account, or their music will be uploaded atleast.

I adore finding incredible sounding music. The less people who have heard it the better because for a small time you feel as if your part of a secret, you've heard something special and most of the world might never hear it.

This week my soundcloud has been dominated by two bands. Eliza and the Bear and Young Mammoth. Both sound incredible with varying levels of public attention from being support to bands in arena tours to having 400 twitter followers.

Eliza And The Bear.

Only good things can come from a band with a perplexing band name. In the last few years the Arctic Monkeys and Catfish and the Bottlemen have gone from strength to strength, and their band names are questionable, so why should Eliza and the Bear be any different ? Already signed to Universal Records this band are beginning to take off. With incredible sets at Reading and Leeds, a UK tour which is beginning to sell out and on the lead up to their debut album, nothing could be going better for this band.

Earlier this year the band supported Twin Atlantic on tour, alongside the incredible Lonely The Brave, which was something pretty special to witness. I've loved all three bands from near the start of each of their careers, and to watch them play on the same stage one after another was just something else. My favourite song from Eliza and the Bear is 'Lions Heart' the first single off the bands upcoming self-title debut album.

I'm looking forwards to this album for sure and September releases tend to become my albums of the year coincidently. Last years offerings of Catfish and the Bottlmens debut album 'The Balcony' and Lonely The Braves debut album 'The Days War' continue to be two of my favourite albums a year after their release. Hopefully this time next year I will be saying the same about 'Eliza and the Bear.'

My other absolute obsession this week has been Young Mammoth. I don't really want to write too much about this band because tomorrow I'll be posting an introducing type post about them and I guess I'd just be repeating it all. So for now I'll say very little.

Their an incredible sounding band who deserve all the support and publicity they can get.  Their one of the most promising bands I've heard this year and I cannot wait to see what they go on to do.

Their self titled EP came out in January of this year and available on Bandcamp (below). Its definitely worth a listen.

Sunday Soundcloud

I've not been on Soundcloud for so long and I miss it so much. It's such an incredible platform for musicians to promote their music worldwide and for listeners who want to find music that isn't in the Itunes top 10.

I genuinely think Soundcloud is so important in future musicians careers as it is a space where musicians and music lovers come together. There's just something about it I love, and for the past few months I've barely scoured the site for music, which used to be a weekly (sometimes nightly) ritual for me.

I decided it was time to search Soundcloud for new music again and make it not only a routine for me, but for my blog also. I've thought about this for a while and I was never sure how the idea would work exactly, however I want to try it out and see how it goes. I'm not saying this will be a forever blog feature, but it might be.

Every Sunday on this blog and website I'll post at least one good single from Soundcloud. It might be a well known song, or an album from an unsigned band. Hopefully, it'll become completely full of new music and new bands, which is my hope for this blog, however in the mean time it'll cover new and slighter not-so-new music.

Starting this Sunday, the 6th of September.

All Time Low UK Tour 2016

After an incredible set at Reading and Leeds, is it any wonder the boys are coming back to the UK next year with their incredible Back To The Future Hearts Tour ?

Earlier this year I had the absolute joy of seeing the band play live last year and their were incredible. Nearing the release of their new album the band seemed determined to make it a good night. Every show without fail they please the crowd and help us revert back to the younger people we were when we first heard songs like 'Lost In Stereo'.

In April the band released their sixth studio album 'Future Hearts' which had incredible sucess, giving the band their first number one album in the UK.  At the time of the release I wrote about this album and how much I was in love with it, a love that hasn't faded yet and that review is inked below.

In September through to November their touring the US and Canada with their Back To The Future Hearts tour, ending in Madison Square Gardens with support from Sleeping With Sirens, Set It Off, Nova Rockafeller, NE OK ROCK and the incredible Neck Deep.

As if the US tour wasn't enough, the band embark on the UK tour in February. This tour looks like it will be good and hopefully it will blow away everyone’s expectations.

Tickets for the UK tour go on sale on Friday, the 4th of September at 9 am.
If your lucky enough to be included, pre-sale tickets go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday the 2nd of September at 9 am.
