Soundcloud Sunday : Eva & The Oak, Bottle Note and Circa Waves

With a collection of new artists, new albums and brand new music, I thought it was about time to revive this neglected series.

If you're not familiar with this series/feature, it is basically where I write about new music. Originally, it did start by featuring music I had discovered through Soundcloud only (hence the name) but quickly I expanded it to all new music I've come across. Think of it as your weekly list of new music that someone else has found for you.

If you are familiar with this series and blog, you know my *slight* issue with posting weekly. It's not that I haven't found new music, it's just I forget to write about it at the time and by the time I go to write about it four weeks have passed the tracks are no longer 'new'. Once again, I am going to really try and have weekly posts. I'm planning to keep this series alive, but there are no promises. (Also, I'm planning on a series name change but I'll keep you posted.)

On to the actual music.

My first track is sort of favourite at the moment. It's from Circa Waves, who are about to release their incredible sounding second album 'Different Creatures'. If you ever heard 2014's 'Young Chasers', the band's debut single, or the huge track 'T-Shirt Weather' from 2015, you know what this band are capable of.

This track, Fire The Burns, is the second released single off the band's new album which is released on Friday (March 10th). However, what I've linked below is the acoustic cover of the track, which I slightly love more than the original. This cover is gorgeous and by the sound of it, this album is going to be huge.

On to something a bit different but equally as beautiful sounding, which this time is actually from Soundcloud. The track's called 'Remember The Iris' and it's from Eva & The Oak, a dreamy indie-folk band from Boston. The bands name and the tracks they write go hand in hand. Ethereal with indie influences, the track features on the bands new EP Floriography which will be released on the 15th of March.

Bringing us back to the UK (and for me a lot closer to home), Bottle Note have released 'Homecoming', the follow up to their two track Callant EP. I got pretty excited the first time I heard this next track. I love this track, alike the band's previous tracks. If your looking for your new favourite indie-alt guitar driven band, I think you may have just found them.

The four piece from Edinburgh are playing at BAaD Music Fair in Glasgow this Saturday (11th of March) which I suggest you head down to. It's free to get in to and will be a weekend full of great live music.

As always, send us your favourite new tracks or the new EP you just fell in love with.
