King Tuts Summer Nights 2018

Our annual summer fortnight of living in King Tuts has returned. King Tut’s Summer Nights is back and below are our favourite picks from the 2-week long line up.

Starting off with a band you all know we love - Vistas. We can skip the formalities because you know 
how we feel. Having featured in our new music playlists, countless blog posts and even in our student 
radio show, you could say we like this band just a little.

It's Time To Get Excited : Glastonbury

The line up for Glastonbury was announced just over a week ago and it is incredible, featuring the likes of The 1975, Muse, Jack Garratt, Jake Bugg and Hinds. Of course out of the line up I have my absolute favourites.

Soundcloud Sunday - Fox Chapel

Nearing the end of last year I came across Fox Chapel. Like something out of an indie summertime haze, I instantly found a band I adored.

  Its been a long year since I first heard Nothing But Thieves. Purely by chance I stumbled across them. I liked them. They seemed anthemic but with an acoustic quality. Ready for huge world tours yet no one had really heard of them.

Catfish and the Bottlemen : Live At the Barrowlands

The Barrowland's isn't a normal venue. Catfish and the Bottlemen aren't a normal band. So a not normal venue plus a not normal band creates one incredible concert.

With a starry painted ceiling and springy , wooden dance floor filled with hundreds of half drunk Glaswegians nearly rioting to the the band's entrance music, it was clear from the start this would be a good night .

All Time Low and You Me At Six Live at the Hydro, Glasgow Review

To all those who question the existence of post concert depression I ask you one question.

Have you ever seen your heroes live, in the flesh, in front of you ?

If you have, see that feeling where you come to realise you might never see them again. Where your happy, elated, but at the same time hit with a sudden sadness ? This is the symptoms of post concert depression.

After last night, where All Time Low and You Me At Six played an incredible gig at the Hydro in Glasgow, I'm still in recovery mode.

Catfish and the Bottlemen are everywhere

Last year was incredible for Catfish and the Bottlemen. They played loads of festivals worldwide, sold out their full UK tour before their debut album 'The Balcony' was even released.

Catfish and the Bottlemen Live at the Classic Grand, Glasgow

Opened in 1915 the Classic Grand was one of Glasgow city's newest cinemas. Its closure as a cinema in 1992 saw a new start for the building as an intimate space for incredible live music.

Last night, the Classic Grand bared witness to one of the worlds best live bands of the moment, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Ed Sheeran Live at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow

Small, live, intimate concerts are great for discovering new artists and helping bands establish themselves. Huge, nationwide arena tours put somethings back into perspective.
