Uncertainty : T In The Park 2017

"For over 23 years, T in the Park has been at the heart of Scotland’s music scene – with you, by our side. But for now, sadly, we need to take a break. We launched T in the Park with one aim: to give Scottish music fans an unforgettable weekend with their friends enjoying the best acts from around the globe.  And to say we achieved this together is an understatement.   T in the Park has become one of the best known, biggest and most loved festivals in the world. When we launched back in 1994 there were only two music festivals in the UK - now there are many and T in the Park paved the way for all that have come and gone in Scotland since. We created more than just a festival; we created a family and decades of wonderful memories. "

This may have came as a shock to many, many people. I guess I saw this coming. Sooner or later it was bound to happen. I remember watching T In The Park as a child and being in amazement, watching thousands of people enjoy music. I would watch festivals like Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds, feeling distant. T In The Park is closer to home and always felt more special to me. The last few years I've been abroad when the festival has taken place and still I've streamed them. It isn't summer without music festivals for me.

The festival has faced problem after problem for the last few years. If taking one year out to come back with a better festival is what it takes, it's worth it. Yes, we will miss it. Summer will feel emptier but we have the anticipation of its return.
