This year anyone expecting to see Sam Smith will be disappointed as he pulled out of his main stage slot due to his vocal chords, however his ill health has given one band the chance to play the main stage taking his place. On the main stage on Sunday will be Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Regular readers of this blog will know already that I adore Catfish and the Bottlemen. Its been a love affair since 2012 and now their reaching higher than ever before, going from strength to strength. This slot for the band is crucial as it's going to show off their incredible talent. They have a half an hour slot where they'll blow the crowd away for sure. I've seen them live a few times and their incredible so playing on the main stage is such a good thing for them. They deserve it more than anyone else and hopefully it'll make so many more people appreciate them as a band, making people fall in love with them and their music.
Radio One's Big Weekend will take place on 23 May 2015 – 24 May 2015 in Earlham Park, Norwich. It'll be broadcasted like usual on BBC Radio One, BBC 3, online with on demand and all the highlights on the BBC iplayer and website.
