938 days since their last release You Me At Six are back with a new single, new album and new(er) sound.
My love for You Me At Six feels timeless. I don't
want to be told how old Take Off Your Colours is (10+ years) nor do I want to
be reminded the bands only UK number one album was Cavalier Youth
because I love all of their releases.
So far the bands sound has remained similar. Each
album has its own feeling. Some are more grown up while others, by
the sound alone, are more youthful and energetic. Then there is
'Sinners Never Sleep' where the bands anger and frustration is made
into music with the added vocals of Winston McCall (Parkway Drive)
and Oli Sykes (Bring Me The Horizon).
From the sounds of Night People, this album might be something different completely. The track sounds heavier and more dramatic. A world away from Take Off Your Colours.
Night People is the first track off the bands
fifth album, with the same name 'Night People', due on the 13th of
January 2017. What I like already about the album is its design. I
never buy albums, EP's or vinyls based on their design. It's all over
the internet in comments and even in stores people are buying LP's
for their cover art and not for the actual music which gets to me
alot. If your willing to pay for the physical art, at least listen to
its music. The design for Night People was fully uncovered online and
it's quiet pretty. The album cover is being sold in its normal design
and with the colours inverted which I love the idea of. The inverted
art's colours tie in with the blue-white coloured marble vinyls. To
own any copy will be pretty special.
The main thing is, You Me At Six are back
with new music and a brand new album. Recorded by Jacquire King,
mixed by Andrew Scheps and recorded in Black Bird Studios, Tennessee,
this will be a great come back record for an incredible Brittish
band.
Night People is out on the13th of January 2017 (UK) and is avaible to pre order now via the bands official site and digitally through sites like Itunes, Google Play Music etc. (linked below)
