King Tuts Summer Nights 2018
Our annual summer fortnight of living in King Tuts has returned. King Tut’s Summer Nights is back and below are our favourite picks from the 2-week long line up.
Starting off with a band you all know we love - Vistas. We can skip the formalities because you know
how we feel. Having featured in our new music playlists, countless blog posts and even in our student
radio show, you could say we like this band just a little.

Our Spotify Summer Rewind
Last summer was pretty special for us. Working at some of our best-loved festivals for the first time, we felt proud and were ecstatic from June 'til September.

New Music Friday June Playlist
Good timing is something that seems to be elusive to us. However, June may be the month our luck changes as we kick off the month on a Friday, so our New Music Friday directly forms the beginning of this months playlist.
Coming also this month are festival season posts and our annual (huge) post about all things XpoNorth.
Created with the beginnings of summer, end of uni and our post-festival mindset, this months playlist already features brand new tracks from our favourites in Homebound, Dancing On Tables, L-Space, Bastille, Only Sun and Spring King.

1 Year On From The Manchester Attack
The tweet flashed up on my phone screen. Instantly I felt sick to my stomach.
“Suspected explosion at Ariana Grande concert.”

Losing A Great And Our Scenes Current Mourning State
It read “Be good to everyone you love. It’s not a given. I’m so annoyed that it’s not. I didn’t live by that standard and it kills me. Please, hug your loved ones.”

Who We're Listening To This Month - April
Whilst we do love festival season, we haven't been gushing over Coachella like most of the people we know. Yes, sometimes British festivals could be doing with a bit of Californian sunshine and a little less rain (as the people who were at Y Not festival last year may agree) but it wouldn't be Reading festival or Download without the mud.
What we have been doing this month instead, is eyeing up this year's festival season and playlisting some of our current favourite tracks, which this month come from the likes of Vistas, Sea Girls, Isaac Gracie, The Indigo Project and a final favourite from Trash.

It's March (Time for another new playlist)
Another month and another playlist. (We're getting pretty good at keeping up with this.)

Who We're Listening To This Month - February
As you can probably tell, last month we were still a bit hung up on our favourites from last year, but this is a new month and is all about new music, new artists and the tracks we've had on repeat since February 1st.
Starting with BBC Introducing's track of the week, from last week. It's called 'Little Amsterdam' and comes from Welsh four-piece Luna Bay. We love it a lot.

Albums We Cannot Wait For #3
Six weeks, three tours and three albums we cannot wait for.
Finally, the wait is over. Tonight on Radio One, The Magic Gang announced their debut album.
Wrapped up in the celebratory playing of The Magic Gang's previous releases and waiting for midnight so we could play their latest track, Get Along, over and over again, we realised a lot of new music is heading its way over the next few weeks.
The Wombat's new album. The return of The Vaccines and of course the newly announced breakout record from the Magic Gang.

New Month New Playlist - February
February is always a little bitter-sweet for us.
It's awards season, with both the BRITS and the NME awards both happening this month. February is always a month where everyone seems to be touring and new releases are never far away. Though, it is also the same month where we mourn the loss of Viola Beach. Two years later, we still feel their loss and anger over the things we want to see change in the music industry that so far haven't.
Safe to say its a month of mixed feelings and our playlist probably will reflect it.

New Year New Playlist
We are playlist people. And this time we're numbering them.
You've asked us and we've brought it back! Monthly playlists featuring our favourite tracks which get added to everytime we find a new track write about or just generally love in the month.
Each month we'll start a new one (because we don't like re-doing entire playlists every month and we like to keep them). We're not intentionally cluttering up the internet but we're keeping them so we all can re-find the tracks we've previously lost loved.
Our first for the year includes our favourites in Neon Waltz, Oddity Road, Rat Boy and Vistas. (All of who we're catching on in the next few months which you can read all about here.)
So here it is, the very first of 2018, our first playlist of the year and we are back.
